We’re now PageRank 4!!

I just noticed when checking the site that Google has finally assigned PageRank for the site. We are now a PageRank 4, a very respectable number for a blog that has been running for less than a month.

If you don’t know what PageRank is, PageRank is a number between 1-10 assigned to your site which classes how authorative your site is. The higher the PageRank, the better. PageRank is actually assigned to every page on your website. Usually your home page will have the highest PageRank, as in our case where our homepage is a 4 but a lot of our internal pages have been assigned a PageRank of 2.

Given the fact we’ve been assigned PageRank and do offer “do follow”, it makes it a no brainer for somebody link building to participate in the comments on this site!!

Congratulations and this is a question more than a comment. How does you allowing followed links affect comment management and is it taking up to much of your time? We are looking into do the same on two of sites and would like to know what is most effective way to manage them. Thank you

Hi Alex

A very slight increase in spam but nothing that I wouldnt be managing anyway. Most people seem to respect it and provide relevant comments but you always get the usual “Nice Post!”

You must be playing your cards right!
Just one tiny thing… Page Rank is a scale from 0 – 10. So yes, getting a 4, is even harder!

Congrats on your PR4! I’m curious how do you do to get this PR4 in just few days? Any link building strategies you would like to share with us? Great to hear that your blog is a dofollow 1, you may receive a lot of spam comments that say “Great Post!”, “nice post!” or something like this.

But don’t worry Leo, I don’t do this way.

Hi Lee, thanks for checking out the blog. I know you don’t abuse comments, I read your post on comment ettiquite . My tip for getting a good pr is don’t be afraid to link to authorative sites/sources. It’s pretty much common sense, when doing reports in college, you always list your sources/references, it’s the same for the internet. If you link to authorative or fact based sites your site should be an authorative site as your content is backed up by fact by reputable sources.

Leo, I got what you mean, I won’t be hesitate to link out to authority site if I need to refer to their statement. Then I will try to do more in coming posts.

So, instead of linking to authority site, what kind of link building exercise that you’ve done for your blog? Mind to share?
