Finally getting Paid to Tweet!

sponsoredtweetsIts the statement we all want to be able to say! Whether your pushing affiliate programs, selling your own products or subscription services, everybody is trying to monetize twitter. Finally there is a service which will pay you to tweet. It’s called SponsoredTweets.com and its authorised by Twitter and brought to you by the IZEA network.

Basically SponsoredTweets pays you per Tweet that is authorised by their advertiser. They calculate how much your tweet is worth based on your influence/follower count. So the lower your twitter following, the lower you get paid.

It has a real simple interface and is very easy to get setup on:

    This is awesome!
    But… won’t it cause a raquet?
It will be hard to control since there are so many spamming accounts. What do you think Leo?

    Take care, cheers.

    Hey Leo,

this is nice in theory but I would be very reluctant to sign up to anything like this, it is likely to cost me- in terms of annoying my followers & adversely affecting my brand.

I’ve build my twitter following gradually, by providing useful business related information, motivational quotes & engaging with people.

Also what would the advertisements be for, how much control over frequency/timing would the person have?

Being a valuable participant in twitter has be invaluable for my business, I can’t help but think signing up to something like this would run the risk of negatively effecting that.

    Hi Claire

For traditional businesses I would totally agree it wouldnt be good to adopt this. But for affiliates, it totally fits in with their business model. Affiliates make money by pushing other peoples products online. You can control the frequency of the tweets, so I’d probably stick to a 70 (sharing resources)-20(building relationships)-10(sponsored tweets/pushing my own products) ratio still. You can also choose what adverts to tweet, so if it’s not related to your niche followers, you don’t have to tweet it.

    Cheers

    Leo
